VIII. Perisher:
Once the candidate has completed the core competencies in item VII, s/he will sit before a board of ideally not less than three Spell initiates. The initiates will each select at least one core competency from the above list to demonstrate; which core competencies will be tested will not be briefed with the candidate beforehand. As it is presumed that a basic circle casting will need to be performed prior to the execution of many of these core competencies, the board should presume that the candidate's "perisher" will always begin with a demonstration of the "Basic Circle Casting" proficiency, and hence this will not be considered an appropriate choice for the initiate's competency selection. Thus, at a minimum, the candidate will be expected to perform a total of four core competencies.
